Freemen’s Guild donate to our funds
Late on in July, Ron Robinson, Master of the Freemen’s Guild, popped into The Weaver’s House and presented a generous donation of £450 to support the work of the Spon End Building Preservation Trust, which manages The Weaver’s House.
He joined a crowded session of the Weavers’ Workshop and Janet Hilton, one of our experienced House guides who is also a member of that group, was on hand to receive the cheque from him.
Ron was back on familiar territory as he had a relative who ran a butcher’s shop in Spon Street in bygone years, before the ring road was built. Do you remember Coventry before the building of the ring road?
